Very seldom do we say this but Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones is for “everyone”, Quite literally!! Weather you are a student, a working professional, in the music industry it is for everyone. They perform well on commutes, flights, and just out on the town. However, there are accusations that there are noises from the ear cups. We didn’t encounter any such faults for our period of usage which is approximately 4 months.
What are the features of the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones?
The major improvement on the Sony WH-1000XM3 over the forgone headphone Sony WH-1000XM2 is boast better noise-cancelling, and are lighter and more comfortable to wear AND throw in the fact that they’re cheaper too, and it’s game, set and match.
One of the best thing about the new Sony headphones is that you rarely need to use your phone to control the music. Once the app is installed you can easily navigate the headphone with finger swipes.
Navigate to playback – Forward, Backward swipes
Volume Up and Down – Up and Down swipes
Activate voice assistance – Long Press.
An update on voice assistance was that that is fully Amazon Alexa compatible. You can also adjust the noise cancellation using the app which we think is a great upgrade from the previous Sony WH-1000XM2. Additionally you can temporarily hear the world around you by just cupping the right ear cup which makes the headphones use their external microphones to pass your surroundings on to your ears. This is great for when someone needs to tell you something, or for plane announcements.
How is the sound quality and mic quality of headphone?
Great, really. A built-in amplifier integrated in HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 realises the best-in-class signal-to-noise ratio and low distortion for portable devices and delivers exceptional sound quality. Powerful 40-mm drivers with Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) diaphragms make the headphones perfect for handling heavy beats and can reproduce a full range of frequencies up to 40 kHz.
Usually microphones are pretty terrible on headphones, but the Sony WH-1000XM3 is the exception to the rule. While the nature of transmitting audio still means that quiet sounds might get amplified in order to mask shortcomings of the power situation, the actual technical capabilities of the microphone are quite… okay. However, it doesn’t combat the proximity effect very well, so your voice will sound bassier than it usually might.
Are they comfortable ?
Super soft, pressure-relieving ear pads in foamed urethane evenly distribute pressure and increase ear pad contact for a stable fit. Comfort is further enhanced by a larger and deeper ergonomic ear space structure. And with a lighter weight design, your music is the only thing you’ll notice all day.
How long do they last ?
With a huge 30 hours of battery life, you’ll have enough power for even long trips away. And if you need to charge in a hurry, you can get five hours’ worth of charge after just ten minutes with the optional AC adapter.
